Setup
- Intro
When setting up to attempt any full swing
shot always set up the same.
If you address the ball each and every
time with the body in the same position and with the
golf ball in the same position (relative to your front
foot), then you will find it much easier to make the
same swing every time and produce the same shot every
time (or at least a similar shot for most amateurs).
Many pros (teaching pros included) will
suggest that you adjust you posture, ball position and/or
hand position depending on which club you are hitting.
If you follow this advice it is necessary to produce
a different (even if just slightly) for each of the
different 'setups' in your repertoire. Listen folks
- you know as well as I that it's hard enough to learn
one good golf swing let alone 14 (one for each
club in the bag).
Building consistency in your address will
convert to consistency in your shots which will in turn
help build consistency in your game. Consistency in
your game regularly leads to lower scores!
