While the proshop is very small and not conducive
to someone suffering from claustrophobia, the
counter staff are generally friendly and helpful.
The course is well maintained and presents an
excellent challenge for the nine-hole facility
that it is.
Don't expect to get much practicing done as there
is only an extremely small chipping area and a
putting green located too close the the first
tee.
Food and beverage ratings have been given at
average as we did not purchase anything from the
snack-bar
Overall Peel Village is a well priced 9-hole
public course maintained by the City of Brampton.
The course is easily accessible from major highways
as it is located within several kilometers of
both highways 410 and 407. At nine holes I found
it a very good course to play early in the morning
prior to heading into the office.
Tip - On the par 5 8th hole, leave your
driver in the bag and hit a long iron off the
tee. If well struck you are still able to go for
the green in two. This will also greatly enhance
your chances of avoiding penalty strokes with
OB on the right and a small (golf ball magnetic)
creek along the left. Note that the landing area
on this fairway is very narrow.
Best Hole: 3
Why?: Short par five that places a premium on
shot making. The set up of the hole removes the
driver from ones hands unless they are confident
enough in their ability to hit a draw around a
large tree guarding the left hand side of the
fairway. Hitting a long iron from the tee is your
best bet followed by a medium iron and then a
wedge into the green.
